Privacy Policy

Welcome to FunNest! We provide creative online and offline competitions designed to inspire and reward children's talents. Because our platform is used by families with children under the age of 13, we take kid privacy and data protection with absolute seriousness.

1. Child Safety & COPPA

FunNest is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not allow children under the age of 13 to register an account directly.

Crucial Safety Notice: All accounts on FunNest must be registered, verified, and managed exclusively by a parent or legal guardian. Parents create the child profiles, submit photos of their projects, and have full authority to revoke or delete any child data at any time.

2. Information We Collect

We limit data collection to the absolute minimum necessary to host fair competitions:

  • Parent Information: We collect the parent's email address, display name, and authentication tokens when they register.
  • Child Profile Info: The parent supplies the child's first name, age group (to ensure they compete in the correct brackets), and a chosen cartoon mascot/emoji avatar. No last names or school details are collected.
  • Competition Submissions: Parents upload photos representing their children's entries (drawings, crafts, painting). Facial photos are highly discouraged to protect identity.

3. How Information is Shared

To run open community voting and support leaderboards, specific elements are viewable publicly:

  • Public Voting Gallery: The child's first name, age group category, and uploaded project photo are displayed on the public voting page.
  • Public Leaderboards: Current vote scores and ranks are publicly viewable by anonymous visitors.
  • Service Providers: We use Supabase for secure database hosting, and Google Cloud Vision API for auto-flagging unsafe uploads.

4. Parental Control & Rights

Parents hold full governance over their family's data. From your personal dashboard, you can:

  • View all registered kids and their active competition entries.
  • Instantly edit or delete kid profiles.
  • Delete an entry or upload, which immediately removes it from Supabase Storage and public galleries.
  • Request complete account termination by emailing us at support@funnest.in.

5. Cookies & Advertising

To support our free platform and fund certificates and scholarship prizes, we display third-party advertisements:

Google AdSense & Cookies: Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits.

Note: We actively request child-directed, non-personalized advertising configurations on children-facing elements in full compliance with COPPA. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings.

6. Policy Updates

We may revise this privacy policy as our safety controls evolve. If we make any material changes in how we collect or share data, we will prominently display an alert banner on our homepage or notify parents via email.
